Robert O. Brawley, 85, Johnstown, died February 18, 2021 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born February 28, 1935 in Cresson, son of the late Carl and Frieda (Nischalke) Brawley. Also preceded in death by brother Ernest. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (Shaffer) Brawley, along with his children, Deborah Dyson; Randall (Joyce); Glenda Harris (Michael); Michael (Lorrie); also grandchildren, Jeff, Connie (James), Kevin, Melissa (Doug), Amanda, Scott, Laura (Norwin), Evan and Luke; along with great-grandchildren Quinn, Jensen, Scarlett, Parker and special nieces and nephews David, Patty, Linda, Carol and Dennis. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was formerly employed at Penstan Supply Co. and Brinks. He loved classic car shows, collecting vanity license plates, model cars and writing stories. Bob was a very active member of the former Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of ALPCA (American License Plate Collector Assn.), past president of Southern Alleghenies Writers Guild and former secretary of the Johnstown Coin Club. Friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. on Monday from 1 PM until time of service at 3 PM, Rev. Toby Holland officiating. Interment Grandview Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required.
