Robert E. Oyler, 92, Johnstown, died August 10, 2018, at Arbutus Park Manor. He was born January 14, 1926, in Johnstown, son of the late Frank E., and Bertha (Gardner) Oyler, and was also preceded in death by siblings, Jack and Fred Oyler, and Emma Jane Brocious. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ethel M. (Whitfield) Oyler; son, Robert Lee Oyler, and wife Gail (Ecklund), Jackson, NJ; daughter Susan G. McNeil, Johnstown; grandchildren Jason E. Oyler, Danielle E. Tavarez, Erin L. Oyler, Joseph R. McNeil, III, and Bryan R. McNeil; great grandchildren Aidan, Ashlyn, Bekah, Micah, Isiah, Selah, Meleah, Damian, Nylah, Liliana and Daylen; he is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Oyler, and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a WWII navy veteran, serving in the Pacific, then worked at Gautier & Lower Cambria Divisions of Bethlehem Steel until retiring. He was a member of Charles T. Menoher Post #155 VFW, and Greater Johnstown Lodge #538 F&AM, and Homestead Ave United Methodist Church. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., where services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
