Robert F. Studeny, 81, passed on June 21, 2023 at McCullough Place in Johnstown. Born May 9, 1942 in Johnstown, son of the late Bernard Studeny and Florence (Nicklaus) Studeny. He attended Johnstown area schools and excelled at playing the Hammond organ. But he was known best for his acerbic wit, self-deprecating sense of humor, and love of animals. Everyone was a friend. He introduced levity to every gathering. He worked several decades for Cambria County in the Recorder of Deeds Office, and spent his retirement years in a quaint log home in Laughlintown, near Ligonier, before returning to Johnstown. He loved the Catholic Church, enjoyed antiques and antique fairs, and celebrated every holiday. Bob held strong opinions and you knew where he stood on any issue. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Bulvin and niece Diane Bulvin. He is survived by his partner of 58 years, Albert Ardinger, his brother-in-law Don Bulvin, his nieces Cindi Truscott and Denise McGrath, and nephew Jeff Bulvin. Families extend special thanks to the staff of McCullough Place and to Aseracare Hospice. A funeral mass for Bob will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 28 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Johnstown, Father Richard Davis officiating. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in Bob's name be made to your local animal shelter.
