Ruth C. (Rose) Riek

Ruth C. Riek, 87, Johnstown, died December 3, 2022.  Born April 2, 1935, in Johnstown, daughter of the late George and Thelma (Costlow) Rose, also predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Bernard Riek, in 2016, and 12 siblings, leaving her to be the last of her generation.  Survived by children Mary Casto (Ben), Michelle Gacka, and Melissa Alt, all of Johnstown; Marci Kokus (George), and Mark Riek(fiancée Lorie), both of Indiana, PA; and Michael Riek (Mindy), Boswell; grandchildren, Anthony Alt, Kathrine Burke (Brad), Nathan Kokus(fiancée Daizy), Adam Kokus(fiancée Maggie), Johnathan Casto, Morgan Casto, David Gacka, Ashley Gacka, Kirsten Riek, Samantha Riek, Olivia Riek, Michael Riek and Aiden Riek; and great granddaughter Khloe Burke.  She was the cafeteria manager at St. Clements/CCA School, until retiring.  Ruth was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church, where friends will be received on Wednesday form 10AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11AM, Rev William Rosenbaum celebrant.  Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Ruth’s name may be made to St. Clement Church, 114 Lindberg Ave., Johnstown, PA 15905. The family is being assisted by Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary.
