Samuel L. Hart, Jr., 70, Johnstown, died November 25, 2023. Born October 9, 1953, son of Rev. Sammie L. and Eva B. (Crawford) Hart. Preceded in death by parents and brothers John Floyd, William Henry and wife Tiny. Survived by wife, the former Patricia Hardrick; son Lt. Jr. Grade USN Samuel III (Kelly) and daughter Patrice. Also surviving are grandchildren, Mya, Xavier Thomas; and siblings Calvin, Belinda, Dr. Dolores Floyd and Richard(Patricia). Goddaughter Ieasha Ferguson; and Carmen McBride (Anton); and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He worked at the Keystone Economic Development and was power plant operator A at Cambria Co-Generation Plant. He was a member, an usher and trustee of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was also the assistant vice president of NAACP, Johnstown branch; played the trumpet in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Band; and was a championship wrestler and an unparalleled billiard player. Friends will be received from on Saturday 10 AM till the time of service at noon at Steven’s Memorial Holy Church, 314 William Penn Ave., Rev. Charles Johnson, officiant and Rev. Clyde Williams, Jr., eulogist. Picking-Treece-Bennett in charge of arrangements.
