Shirley J. (Pecsenye) Kuyat

Shirley J. (Pecsenye) Kuyat, 95, Johnstown, died March 28, 2025.  She was born July 26, 1929, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Ellen (Dishong) Pecsenye. Shirley was the last of her generation, being preceded in death by her husband Atty. Edward G. Kuyat, Jr., in 2011, and brother Dwight Pecsenye.  She is survived by her children, Jeanne Myers and husband Barry; Judith Santoliquido and husband Geoffrey; Craig E. Kuyat, Esq. and wife Brenda (Thornton); grandchildren Sara Baird (Matt), Katie Pfrommer (Joey), Nicole Allison (Robert), Stephanie Holby (Taylor); and 6 great-grandchildren.  Shirley was an member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Women’s Circle. Friends will be received at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, 921 Menoher Blvd. on Monday March 31, 2025 from 1:00 until the time of services at 2:00, with the Rev Michael Van Dyke officiant.  Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery, next to her husband. A special thanks to the staff at Arbutus Park for their care. Memorial donations may be made to either Zion Lutheran Church or Arbutus Park Retirement Community.
