Weinzierl, Thomas D., Sr., “Big Guy”, 78, Johnstown, died September 11, 2019. Born October 30, 1940 in Johnstown, son of the late Isadore and Marie (Sellman) Weinzierl. Preceded in death by siblings Bill, Bob, Art, Les, Mary Ann Findley, Jimmy & Joe. Survived by loving wife of 57 years, Mary Kay (Morris), daughter, Kim, son Tom, Jr. (Amy) and, grandchildren Emma and Cade, who were the sparkle of his eyes; sister Margaret Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a C&BL mechanic, owner and mechanic of a Gulf station then a BP, and then a partner with his son in the Weinzierl Garage. Tom was an amazing mechanic with a big heart. He was always just a phone call away and helped whoever needed help. He had a way of fixing just about anything. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, a life member of BPOE #175, member of “Crazy 8” hunting camp, enjoyed going to casinos and going out for family dinners. There will be no receiving of friends. Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Rev. Mark Begly, officiating. Family is being served by the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. (PTBMortuary.com)
