Valentina (Ruiz) Ruiz

Valentina Ruiz, 76, Windber, formerly of Johnstown, died March 9,2020.  She was born on Valentine’s day, in 1944, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, daughter of the late Susano and Domitila (Ruiz) Nuñez, also predeceased by her husband Emigdio Ruiz. She is survived by her son, Jim and wife Kelli, Johnstown; daughters Elena Ruiz, Pittsburgh; and Celia (Ruiz) Halkovich, and husband, Mike, Chesterland, OH; grandsons Joshua, Jeremy, Jordan; great-grandchildren Jacob, Jarrett and Lyanna; and 4 brothers and 3 sisters, in Mexico.  Valentina was a dedicated volunteer with the Foster Grandparents program for 7 years.  At her request, there will be no visitation, but friends may meet at St. John Gualbert Cathedral on Thursday at 10:00 AM for a Funeral Mass, Very Rev. James Crookston officiating.  Interment Grandview Cemetery.  Arrangements by Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., West Hills.
