Virginia Ruth "Ginny" (Sitar) Boerstler

Virginia Ruth “Ginny”  Boerstler, 86, Upper Yoder Twp., died March 15, 2017 at her residence.  She was born April 6, 1930 in Hooversville, the daughter of the late Lenhart and Sophia (Bylina) Sitar.  Preceded in death by husband, Frederick C. Boerstler in December 2006.  Survived by son, Brad E. Boerstler, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Ruth A. Rodkey, Pittsburgh and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Ginny was employed as a secretary for US Steel for 35 years and Zion Lutheran Church with 10 years of service.  She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Mizpah Circle.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Sunday and 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM, Monday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.  The Revs. Michael Van Dyke and Wilbert Boerstler officiating.  Entombment Grandview Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 or to The Mary Grace Hospice Foundation, 322 Warren Street, Suite 250, Johnstown, PA 15905.  The family would like to thank the nurses, the physical and occupational therapists of Interim Home Healthcare as well as the social worker, nurses and aides of Interim Healthcare Hospice for their loving and excellent care of Virginia.
